「I have returned from the depths of Hel to tell you this: I’m not dead as of current, and I’ve finally managed to twist my sleep cycle enough to work slightly better with you Americans. I must admit I probably deserved my stay in the depths, as I mostly play Aggro Freeze these days and that’s pretty frustrating to go up against.

I’m suffering from the same bug that Decay was stricken by a while ago; WordPress keeps lagging while I edit the post, to the point where I can write an entire sentence and not have it show before like 10 seconds have passed. Updating the MG section was pretty painful, but what must be done must be done, and anything mocking any aspect of Tay’s conduct in any manner is mandatory.

My main hype point today would be that Kindred Spirits is fully translated! Now, I realize that even when editing (currently at 90%) finishes, there will be lots of revision to be done. Still, the end’s in sight at this point – the end, and the beginning of a #yuritopia. I wonder if it’ll get extra press because of the whole uncensored sex scenes on Steam thing. There were some tragic attempts at journalism back when the Steam release was announced; we can always hope something decent happens at actual release, though I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Well, we can always hope for some amusing comments ranting about Big Eroge and terrible, degrading, irredeemable Chinese porn powerpoints.

Root Double being on Prefundia means we’re likely to see the actual Kickstarter soon. 120k, eh? should be doable. Hard to get hyped on something that’ll probably take a year or more to come out, though.

TAYsteful™ Thoughts

To the Fuwa Crowd: For those of you who are regular Fuwanovel users and have been wondering where I’ve been, here’s a brief explanation and some notes about the rest of the month. Earlier this year I was on a small Caribbean island when it was struck by Tropical Storm Erika. It really damaged the island and hurt a lot of people, and while that kind of damage is far more important and pressing, it also kind of threw my school/research/life plan off the rails a bit. I’ve spent the last 6 weeks trying to compensate for that lost time, and haven’t had a lot of free time to work on the site. What’s more, I’m moving across the country again, and if you know what that’s like you have my pity.

(Continued) The craziness is starting to abate, and I’ll be officially moved-in and stable by Christmas eve. I’ll probably take a day or two to celebrate the holiday with my family and relax, and then I’ve set aside a few hours a day to work on Fuwanovel. The first thing I have to do is finalize the statistical models/launch the year-end feedback drive. I’m also finalizing a report for the community following the Loligate survey, so if you’ve been waiting on that, know it’s almost ready. I’ve put a lot of work into it, so as a gesture of good faith I want to confirm that I try and really listen to you guys. I’m also getting ready to add several hundred games to the front site, and I’m making steady progress on getting a functional launch of the redesigned front site up ASAP. I apologize for the flakiness, and I want to reconfirm my dedication to keeping the site alive and perpetually evolving.

Now. Before you go send me nasty emails about my taste in music, I will refer you to the movie “Easy A” and its masterful depiction of how tunes can infect the soul with or without our conscious approval.

Some levity: I mentioned up above that AstralAir saw a nice little TL bump (up to 59.78%). What I DIDN’T tell you is that the AstralAir team has mastered the secrets of time travel — see exhibit A below. I look forward to hearing what the future’s like… I mean, part of me realizes that it’s probably just like this week but colder and snowier, but another part of me hopes there are, like, teleporters, Batman is a United States senator, Ren is a millionaire, and Decay has ascended to godhood.

Joking aside, I do want to give a special shout out to the AstralAir team for their steady stream of work, and the excellent manner in which they keep their fans (and VNTS stalkers) in the loop. I know Chuee works hard to get updates up and out to us each week, and I want to recognize that effort.
