ANONYMOUS;CODE is the sixth mainline entry in MAGES.’s Science Adventure series. Spike Chunsoft is publishing an English localization for the game on PlayStation®4, Nintendo Switch™, and Steam® on September 8th, 2023. This release will also mark the first time a Science Adventure visual novel will receive a full English dub.
The story of ANONYMOUS;CODE starts in 2037, a year after the SAD MORNING disaster wrought havoc upon the world and annihilated 120 million people across the planet. The game follows Pollon Takaoka, a young hacker who finds himself caught up in an unsettling series of events in Nakano City, starting with a fateful meeting with a mysterious girl.
This game will have a Digital Deluxe pre-order edition available, both for the PlayStation®4 and the Nintendo Switch™. You’ll be able to buy it $79.99 at MSRP. However, the standard edition is available for $59.99.
For PlayStation® Plus members, pre-orders for the standard edition will receive a discount of 10%.
Meanwhile, on the Nintendo™ store and Steam®, both the standard and digital deluxe editions are available for 10% off for all users.
The Digital Deluxe edition features an interactive digital guidebook entitled A BEGINNER’S GUIDE TO EARTH SIMULATOR, as well as a full digital soundtrack collection with 52 songs, entitled SOUND DATA LOG. This was all included in the physical limited edition of the original Japanese release. No information has been provided to suggest an English physical release for either of the Digital Deluxe edition bonuses.
Whether these features will be available as DLC or as separate apps altogether remains unclear. However, Spike Chunsoft’s previous release of Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE featured an interactive digital art book as a separate app entirely, suggesting that ANONYMOUS;CODE‘s extra content could potentially follow the same path. On the Nintendo store, the guidebook has a separate listing, further suggesting this possibility.
The game will be available for the PlayStation®4 and the Nintendo Switch™, as well as Steam® for $59.99.
On August 3rd via press release, Spike Chunsoft formally announced the ANONYMOUS;CODE Digital Deluxe Edition, which was on the PlayStation® and Nintendo™ stores earlier. The press release also confirmed that the Digital Deluxe Edition will release on Steam® as well with 10% discounts for its launch week. Furthermore, it was also confirmed that the guidebook and soundtrack would be implemented as separate apps from the main game.
In addition to the aforementioned announcement, Spike Chunsoft also shared a new trailer previewing the SOUND DATA LOG and its 52 tracks. Interestingly, compared to the original Japanese release, the final two tracks appear renamed. The “PV2020” and “PV2022” tracks have been renamed to “PV2021” and “PV2023” respectively.
