Muv-Luv Switch Ports to Release March 28th 2024

The previously announced Muv-Luv trilogy Nintendo Switch ports are now available for pre-order via the Muv-Luv 20th Odyssey Box. It will release on March 28th, 2024. Storefronts, including the official âge store, indicate that this release will feature both Japanese and English language support. However, aNCHOR has not announced a formal western release of these Nintendo Switch ports as of this time. The 20th Odyssey Box costs 32780 JPY including tax and is rated CERO D (17+).

Interestingly, the 20th Odyssey Box includes download codes for a Nintendo Switch version of Muv-Luv Unlimited: The Day After. This release would thus mark the first time that the game is released on consoles. The last Muv-Luv series console port was in 2016, when they released the Muv-Luv Trilogy and Teito Moyu for the PlayStation Vita. Before then, Total Eclipse, Photonflowers, and Photonmelodies also originally released on consoles. Therefore, as of now, the biggest Muv-Luv game to have never received a console port is Schwarzesmarken.

Aside from download codes for The Day After, other bonuses featured within the 20th Odyssey Box include a 20th anniversary commemorative medal, a royal guard insignia, an expanded version of the Muv-Luv Alternative Integral Works lore book, and a mug with a carabiner. Individual storefronts have their own separate additional bonuses.

Bonus tapestries for Animate, Amiami, Softmap

The Muv-Luv series is a highly acclaimed romance and military sci-fi visual novel franchise made by âge and aNCHOR. The original trilogy consists of Muv-Luv ExtraMuv-Luv Unlimited, and Muv-Luv Alternative. The trilogy infamously starts as a typical romance story before turning into an alternate timeline coming-of-age alien invasion war epic. In light of the series’ success, âge expanded upon the trilogy with various side stories in multiple mediums. Muv-Luv Unlimited: The Day After is one such side story.

All well and good but the box is damn expensive. 300 EUR and then without shipping, tax and customs. I think that’s exaggerated. I hope they release a standard version too. This is not what I was hoping for. Many people even feel the same way.
In addition, 8 Japanese and 2 Americans with whom I spoke in DMs find the price extremely high. The price is huge, especially for us who then import it. Having paid 400 EUR in the end for 1 box with PORTS after import, the price is ridiculous.
