SAGA PLANETS is a visual novel brand that originated from VISUAL ARTS before going in different directions in 2019. They have very popular titles under their belt, such as Hatsuyuki Sakura, Floral Flowlove, Kinkoi: Golden Loveriche, and Kinkoi: Golden Time.
Kakenuke★Seishun Sparking! received a Grand Award from Moege Award 2020, and has also been rewarded with the 4th place as best OP Movie and 10th on Best Character (Kashima Riri) for the Getchu Awards.
The Story
The protagonist, Toono Yuu, is a junior at Kazami Academy,
At the age of puberty and youth. But…
“Youth? What’s that? You know, I’m busy with my part-time job.”
Yuu is a hard-core realist who uses his youth to the fullest at his part-time job.
He excels academically and works tirelessly at his job to support himself.
His hobby is checking his bank account balance.
Not being able to ignore this, his childhood friend Hibiki and a classmate who looks up to him, Riri, decided to try to reform his life by getting him involved in a club.
Hibiki, a bubbly girl, suggested he join the Act Club, short for the Activity Club, whose motto is “Let us have fun enjoying our youth in school!”
Riri, a serious girl, recommended him the Volunteer Club, commonly called the Negative Club, whose slogan is “Let’s spend our youth making the world a better place”.
Each club is determined to recruit Yuu.
“Neither club is appealing to me. Youth is unnecessary for me in the first place.”
But despite his protests, the girls keep dragging him around daily.
How in the world did this happen?
“That type of thing hasn’t been decided yet, has it?”
“Get ready! Soon you’ll enjoy your youth!”
What kind of adolescence awaits Toono Yuu!?
Toono Yuu
“I don’t have the time to be messing around with you guys!”
The protagonist, an unaffiliated second year from Kazami Academy, has a little sister named Toono Ritsu, who is one year younger.
He is considered good-looking but not handsome, his grades are good, and he is decent at sports. He isn’t involved with any clubs, and he spends most of his free time working part-time jobs.
When he reunites with his childhood friend Hibiki, he finds himself being recruited into the “Action Club” she created. He does have friends, but he doesn’t really play, so their relationships remains at surface level.
He is quite dexterous and is familiar with sleight-of-hand techniques. He is also good at reading people, and his favorite phrase is ‘This is hard…’
Kohinata Hibiki

After returning to Kazami City after a few years, she reunites with him.
She is cheerful, sociable, and a beauty moreover, and she immediately became the center of attention in class.
For the time being, she wants to do something interesting.
After transferring to the academy with the feeling of spending her school life in enjoyment with everybody, she starts a club called “Action Club”, also known as the “Active Club”.
Kashima Riri

She is a 2nd year at Kazami Academy and a part of the Volunteer (Negative) Club. She is Yuu’s classmate.
She is a reliable person and holds the position of a class representative.
As she is a wandering beauty with a nice and gentle personality, she’s very popular in class.
After entering the academy, she established the “Volunteer Club” for the sake of helping others, which is also known as the “Negative Club”, where she’s distressed over the lack of increasing numbers.
She collects mascots from gachapons.
Hiiragi Shiori

She essentially expressionless and doesn’t have much of a reaction.
She absentmindedly looks at the sky, plants, and animals all by herself.
It’s not like she has a cold personality. She has a frivolous existence because her class has a tough time approaching her.
As she was dozing around the place where Hibiki was dancing, she joined the Active Club based on the flow that was going on.
She seems to have a favorite YuoTube channel to watch and often checks those videos during break time.
Kaidou Nagiko

She is a 3rd year at Kazami Academy and a part of the Active Club.
With an easy-going personality, she has an older sister disposition who cares for others. There are tons of people in her surroundings that rely on her.
She’s shy and has a low tolerance when it comes to guys, which ends up having her take a cold attitude towards them by mistake, and got disheartened with self-hatred as she tells herself that she is inexperienced.
She is Hibiki’s cousin. She wanted to be around Hibiki who like her cute little sister, so she decided to join the Active Club.
She seems capable in every sport and has been doing marine sports and aikido since she was a child.
Hijiri Kikka

“It’s been a while! What’s up, Toono-senpai! It’s your lovely, lovely underclassman, Hijiri Kikka!”
She is a 1st year at Kazami Academy and has no club affiliation. She is Yuu’s underclassman, being a year below him.
She won’t tell him which class or club she’s in for some reason.
She always confuses him by saying “It doesn’t matter, does it? Senpai, you totally like me, right?”. She easily gets carried away, regardless of the person’s age or gender, and gets overly familiar with everyone with absolutely zero distance.
Her hobby is teasing Yuu. It seems she finds his reactions amusing compared to the other guys.
Toono Ritsu

She has a baby face based on the appearance of her age.
With an extremely cute personality, she is a mature honor student who is liked by everyone.
She makes sure to be responsible for all the housework in the Toono Household.
There are times when she acts cheeky towards Yuu, but she has a severe brother complex. She’ll indiscriminately love any appeal he has.
With her older brother desperately working hard for his own sake, she wants him to live a better school life—an enjoyable youth.
