Welcome to Fuwanovel’s newest monthly blog post, the Fuwanovel EVN List! In this particular blog post, we aim to share with our readers a summary of EVNs that were released during the span of the past month. Note that these EVNs might include indie titles from other languages that were made available in English. If you’re a fan of reading English indie titles, then look out for the post every start of the month!
Happy Pride Month! Or at least, a belated greeting. Going into this month’s list, I was expecting a lot of gay titles to pop up and oh boy, it did feel like there was a lot. For everyone who enjoys the occasional boys love or girls love titles, hopefully you find something that interests you for this month’s list! And for the furry visual novel fans? Don’t worry, the EVN scene never fails to deliver.

Convinced that his life is over, Yuel insists that his older cousin should hurry up and execute him. Indra does not need two power-hungry men vying to be the country’s king, and leaving Yuel alive would only divide the country further. Why can Tavi not finish what he started?
Tavi finds himself paralysed, however, with indecision. Incapable of killing his own family member, Tavi chooses to keep Yuel hidden away inside the palace, after convincing all of his advisors that he has put him to death. Tavi wants to treat his younger cousin with a degree of kindness, but Yuel is unimpressed. How dare Tavi try to extend the olive branch after effectively ruining his life: stripping him of his dignity in the process?

The twenty-year-old man works tirelessly, even holding down three jobs as a laborer on construction projects, a food delivery driver, and writing his own novel. Yuko’s innocent and caring nature would make Hiromi do anything to make his mother happy.
Despite their hard work to repay the debts, their relationship grows incredibly close as mother and son, as they must rely on each other. Due to their poverty, they can only afford to rent a small apartment with one room. This situation forces them to share a bed, and although their lives are difficult, they become even closer because of it. They often confide in each other every night, discussing work, future plans, money-saving strategies, women, and sometimes delving into slightly sensitive topics.
Sometimes the sensitive topics they discuss day by day make things even more awkward, especially Yuko. For example, when Hiromi asks about sex, Hiromi is anxious about finding a girlfriend or woman. Yuko tries to be calm with her son because the conversations sometimes cross the line. However, it’s just a topic that makes things temporarily awkward. After that, they would joke around with each other and the atmosphere would return to normal.
But will these enjoyable days last?
One day Hiromi accidentally saw his mother naked because his mother was changing clothes. And since then Hiromi couldn’t get rid of thoughts about his mother. Hiromi sleeps in the same bed as his mother, right? After all, Hiromi is also a man, something could happen, right?

And that’s the Fuwanovel EVN List for the month of June! There were a LOT of titles this month, so if it feels a little bit longer to scroll through compared to the previous months, you already know why! If there’s anything good about a long list though, it’s that there’s a lot of things to look at and possibly like.
First off, let’s look at some of the freeware games! I love the art of Rover’s Pawsome Adventure; it reminds me of your usual childish Saturday morning cartoon show, or for the older readers, a certain short animation series featuring happy… tree friends? The visual novel is a spinoff based on the Purrfect Apawcalypse series, which makes the artistic direction of this game make a LOT of sense. If you’re into silly, over the top cartoony gore stories, then maybe this one’s the next one up your alley.
For the LGBT titles, I’m interested in reading Summer With You and Seeing Stars. Based on the synopsis, both of the visual novels feature girls love stories but could not be more different (perhaps) from each other! Summer With You feels like a feel-good story about a budding romance while being stuck in an uninhabited island, which to be honest, sounds pretty silly. But it’s a little bit exciting, I think? It feels super wholesome but with the thought of “what if we die here” constantly bugging them at the back of their minds.
Seeing Stars, on the other hand, feels more of a sensitive story about the difficulties of breaking away from tendencies or bad habits. I’m kind of interested what that means for someone who’s a mind reader, so if I ever get the chance to sit down and read it, I’d be glad to maybe give it a pass! There’s a lot of same sex or non-binary stories in this month, so for people who might not share the same interests with me, there’s a lot to pick from so make sure you check each one closely!
I’d also like to give a sort of special mention to ALL PREPARATIONS ARE COMPLETE, which seems to be a short 5-minute visual novel that serves as a prequel to CUE PITY’S ARROW which was released earlier last year. Apparently it’s a prequel with details based on the unreleased extended version of the original, which is a game jam release. While I do think the choice to release them in that order is kind of weird, it does spark for me a bit of interest in the series because of the very nice art and the dark yet lovely atmosphere it seems to kind of project via its previews. I hope the project turns out great!
As for the, well, monthly guilty pleasures… Love Elysium: Secret of the Goddess and Summer Clover look like our pick of the month. I will admit that it’s kind of a shame that Love Elysium is all-ages and on the Nintendo, but hey, at least it looks nice! It also has like a weird promo going on as of the time of writing this—the normal digital version is $19.99 but the deluxe version is $1.99 only. The DLCs for the original are free too! What the heck’s happening there?
As for Summer Clover, well, the assets are pretty interesting. Uh-huh. I will say it’s a shame that it doesn’t feature a flat-chested character to kind of subvert the usual idea of a well-endowed older lady, but ah well. If you like stacked heroines with a tendency to have the hots for a financially broke guy, then you’ve found your game for the month. I have to wonder though, why are scenarios including older ladies always painting the protagonist as someone who needs a lot of help, kind of like a baby—I see how it is.
