In conjunction with Steins;Gate’s 15th anniversary, the Committee of Zero has released improvement patches for Steins;Gate Elite and Steins;Gate: Linear Bounded Phenogram. As usual with their patches, these come with a significant number of quality of life, accessibility, and translation improvements. You can find a full list of their patch’s features over on the projects page of their website.
Interestingly, The Committee of Zero’s Steins;Gate Elite patch restores a sizeable number of lines cut from the original Steins;Gate. For reference, Steins;Gate Elite is a fully animated remake of the original Steins;Gate. It cuts over a third of the original game’s content, featuring only 65% the number of lines that Steins;Gate does. While they could not possibly restore the majority of this cut content due to just not having corresponding animation amidst a number of different things, the Committee’s patch does nonetheless make the difference between the two games “a little less massive”. However, they still firmly recommend playing the original game first.
In addition to these patches, the Committee of Zero also dropped another progress report for the first time since January. Within it, they unveiled the current status of their progress on the two Love Chu Chu games. Chaos;Head LCC is currently 97% translated, 25% TLCed, and 25% edited. With the first pass translation being almost entirely complete, this is a massive jump in progress from their last report. Meanwhile, Chaos;Child LCC is 100% translated, 100% TLCed, and 100% edited! Moreover, the Committee of Zero has also finished roughly 70% of Chaos;Child LCC’s port work. At the moment, the game is completely playable from start to finish with a fully functioning save system. Thus, we may very well end up seeing this released next year.
The Committee of Zero is a fan translation group for the Science Adventure Series, also known as SciADV. SciADV is a long-running sci-fi visual novel series by MAGES. and Chiyomaru Studio. Steins;Gate is the franchise’s second mainline entry and the series’ most popular title. It is currently celebrating its 15th anniversary year, with a live event entitled “ONE WORLD” scheduled for October 27th.
